musictheory #basslesson #basssolo In this lesson I demonstrate how you can take the music theory you know, regardless of how much music theory you know or the instrument you play, and turn it into actual music! I call this the Expressive Tonal Color Approach to Improvisation.
In this lesson, I breakdown music into four core ingredients (time, melody, harmony, and tone). I then talk about learning notes (introducing melody) using the chromatic scale, making sure to always have fun practicing! Thanks for watching and check back frequently for more lessons and performances! Buy my album!
In this lesson, I treat the Major scale as a chord scale that outlines two chords: CMaj7 and Dmin, demonstrating an effective way to begin learning harmony through arpeggios that exist within scales. I encourage all musicians to use this approach in order to expand beyond memorized scale patterns and shapes.
In this lesson I demonstrate my approach to tapping chords on bass. With this approach I've discovered some great tools for both expanding my knowledge of the fretboard and for improving my ability to hear different chords.
